We support the whole of you, not just the work part.
Life doesn't pause for your career, and we wouldn't want it to. Whether you're growing your family, navigating fertility treatment, or returning from leave, we want you to feel genuinely supported, practically and financially, at every stage.
Having a baby or adopting
We want becoming a parent to feel like something to look forward to, not worry about. Primary carers receive 18 weeks at full pay, followed by 21 weeks of statutory pay, and this applies to all permanent employees from day one, regardless of gender or how you're growing your family. Secondary carers receive 4 weeks at full pay.
We don't ask anyone to pay back their parental leave pay. It's yours, regardless of what you decide to do next. We know that circumstances change, and we'd rather you make the right decision for your family without the added pressure of a financial obligation hanging over you.
Your pension keeps running throughout your leave, and you'll stay fully in the mix for promotions and pay reviews while you're away.
If you want to ease back in gradually when the time comes, we'll figure that out together. We also offer primary careers up to 10 paid Keeping in Touch days if you'd like to stay connected, entirely on your terms.
When life happens unexpectedly
Sometimes the people you love need you, and work has to wait. Every Attester has up to five days of paid leave per year to deal with emergencies involving a dependant, whether that's a child, a partner, a parent, or anyone else who relies on you. There's no lengthy approval process. If something comes up, you take the time you need and sort the admin later.
Flexible working
If you need to change your hours or working pattern — whether that's after returning from leave or at any other point — we have a formal flexible working policy to make that happen. Just start the conversation.
Fertility treatment and family planning
We know the path to parenthood isn't always straightforward. If you're going through fertility treatment, you'll have up to five days of paid leave per cycle with no limit on cycles. If you're supporting a partner through treatment, you can take up to two days paid leave per cycle to be there with them. That includes surrogacy too.
Pregnancy loss
We know that pregnancy loss can be a devastating experience, whether it happens to you, your partner, or the surrogate having your baby. It's sadly more common than people may think, and we're committed to making sure anyone going through this at Attest feels genuinely supported.
The loss can be felt deeply at any point during pregnancy, and we won't assume to know how much time you need, everyone's circumstances are different but we want you to have the space to focus on yourself and the people around you.
As a guide, for pregnancy loss before 24 weeks in the UK and 20 weeks in the US, we offer up to four weeks of paid leave for the person carrying, and up to two weeks for partners. If you need more time, please talk to us — we'll do our best to support you.
